About Steel Magnolias

Set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, Steel Magnolias follows the lives of six distinct women who gather there to share gossip, laughter, and support. The story spans three years, centered around the bond between M’Lynn and her daughter, Shelby, who is preparing for her wedding as the play begins. Despite having type 1 diabetes, Shelby chooses to risk her health to have a child, leading to a series of emotional highs and lows for the entire group.
