RVP invites you to “ Move It! Move It, Move It !” with the Youth Theatre as they escape from New York’s Central Park Zoo and head to Madagascar on July 19, 20 and 21. Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo; add in those bevy of animals including those plotting hilarious penguins as they bound onto the RVP stage at St. John’s Community Center, 1301 2nd Street, Henry. Based on the DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar Jr., A Musical Adventure is presented through special permission from Music Theatre International. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and the Sunday performance is at 1:30 pm. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the performance. The production is partially funded by a grant from the Sun Foundation and Illinois Arts Council. Tickets for all 3 performances are $15 and available by calling 309 238 7878 or online at www.rvphenry.org. The Talented cast is composed of area youth, ages 5- 14, from Marshall, Putnam, Bureau and LaSalle Counties.

Under the direction of Robert Eckert and Christine Gaspardo. Based on the DreamWorks smash hit, animated motion picture, Madagascar, this story follows all of your favorite “crack-a-lackin’ friends” as they suddenly find themselves on a much unexpected adventure to the wildly impulsive world of King Julien’s Madagascar, shortly after they leave their home in New York’s City’s Central Park Zoo. The Summer Youth Theatre participants will also have the benefit of attending a workshop(s) geared towards the introduction and continued exposure of various aspects of  theatre production, ensuring that their summer theatre experience is both fun and educational!
